Calm Before The Storm…

Ahh… finally, some free time to key in an entry… Last week had been completely MAD i tell ya… The write-up requests were piling up, at home, we were busy with our new home’s renovation and packing for the long weekend (more info later.. ;D), and up till yesterday evening, i was struggling to finish up last week’s assignments… Not that i procrastinate, it’s just that most of them were given at the end of the day of the last few days of the week! But I guess that’s pretty normal here so I’m trying to adjust accordingly…

Last weekend, my family n i went to KB to visit our relatives. It was exhausting!! But to be honest, it’s not the travelling in KB that was tiring… it was the JOURNEY to get there!! On Friday, I finish work at 5.00, but at the last minute my colleagues went and had a b’day party for our Big Boss! I was all fidgety the whole time coz I had to rush to catch my flight which was at 8.20pm… The good thing about it was that they served the most heavenly chocolate cake i’ve ever had!! It was moist choc cake, layered with whipped white choc cream and what i believe was hazelnut choc cream, and finally it was covered in a rich, thick, belgian choc coating!!! My mouth waters just typing about it!!!

Anywayz, I managed to sneak out of the party by 5.20, ran to the monorail and putra lrt, reached KJ station at 6.10, got home, do some last minute packing and got ready. By the time we were ready to leave, it was 6.40 - rush hour hell!! I thought we’d never make it on time, but fortunately, i had the F1-driver-angel on my side.. ;) After much manouvering and extreme speeding, we reached KLIA in the nick of time! And guess what? The stupid AirAsia flight was delayed!:(

Upon touchdown at KB, my cousin was already waiting and we arrived at my aunt’s house to a warm home-cooked meal, much to my growling tummy’s delight.. For the whole weekend, we realised that there’s really not much to do in KB… except SHOPPING!!! hehe… So that’s what we did, buying tudung and keropok the whole weekend… By Sunday night, our suitcases’ size increased 10%.. hehe..

At 11.10, we reached KLIA (coz the darned AirAsia flight was delayed yet again!) As we were walking towards the exit, I saw that they were having this perfume promotion.. and the perfume that I had my eye (or nose in this matter.. ;P) on recently was one of ‘em!! So after about 5 minutes of deep consideration, out came my trusty credit card and I came home with a brand new Escada Rockin’ Rio… Oh My God I can’t think about my credit card bill this month!!! :s

Well, that was my weekend in a nutshell.. Most memorable scene last weekend was cramming 10 (yes, i kid you not!) TEN ppl in one tiny Atoz… Now I know how a sardine feels… :P Newayz, guess that’s all for now… Somehow my few minutes of freedom is like the calm before a storm… The worst is yet to come!! So, need to enjoy my freedom before the work starts piling up again… Daaa!!

Wacky Weekend!

Gawsh… It’s been awhile, huh? Quite alot has happened since, but the weekend was the craziest!

Friday: Right after work, went to Mid Valley to get a Mother’s Day gift for me mom… decided to engrave our family photo on an acryllic stand.. Twas quite pricey but it was lovely and I knew mom would definitely love it! It was really worth being broke after that.. Then, went to OU to watch Kingdom Of Heaven… Even though my feet were sore, my stomach was growling and I was feeling sticky all over, it was absolutely worth it!!! The set was amazing, storyline was fantastic, scripts were brilliant and last but not least… yummy Orlando Bloom!!! The only thing that was a little messy was the war sequence… it was too disorienting. But other than that, it was perfect!. At first, I was quite reluctant to see this movie as it was an epic about the crusades (Perang Salib). I was afraid that the Muslims would be potrayed as terrorists, vicious and inhuman while the Christians would come up heroic. I was pleasantly surprised as it was a good attempt to show the best of both sides… To those who hasn’t seen it… grab your phone/go online and book your tickets NOW!!!

Saturday: Get to wake up at 11.00… yayyy!!! Then I went SHOPPING! But wait… it’s not for clothes or shoes… for groceries!! Why, do u ask? Well, I was planning a big shindig at my place the very next day, so I had to get the stuff for my baked maceroni and bbq chicken.. later on that night, went to Johnny’s Steamboat to celebrate an early Mother’s Day… It was a good choice coz after dinner everybody was FLAT! hehehe

Sunday: Ah… Mother’s Day. Me n my sisters got up at 7.45 (yup! THAT early) to prepare a breakfast in bed for my mom… Menu: Ommellete de fromage (cheese ommellete) and mushrooms… beef patty, salad and hot milo… we sneaked into her room and woke her up.. boy, was she surprised! It was totally worth waking up that early to cook… ehehe… Later, at noon, I started cooking the baked maceroni and salad for the night’s shindig… By 6.00, my frens arrived with the lamb, potatoes and the cream caramel, and we got the bbq party started! After a whole lot of running up down and around, by 8.00 everybody was diggin’ in… Had a whole lotta laughs, esp when my fren Sue was very nearly thrown into the pool by the "cheeky munkys"… poor girl… :P By 10.30, the guests left with bigger tummies and wider grins… As for me, had to do alot of cleaning up and packing the stuff to be brought back up… When all’s done, with my body aching and eyes barely open, I was out cold… It was amazing I could wake up this morning!!!

So all in all, the bbq party was a blast! Even though quite a few didn’t come, those closest and matters most to me did, and for that, I’m thankful… To those who came and helped, thank you!… To Shaun and Nazli, thanx for the bone-lickin’ lamb and chicken and to Tammy, Aida, Aino and Sue, thanx for helpin’ out… Maybe we can do this again, ya! But not within these few months laa… Pengthannnnn…..  ;P

Brand New “Jones”

Guess what?!? I survived my first day at my new job!!! Hehehe… Not only that, I arrived half an hour early, too! That might seem like nothing to most of you, but it’s a big deal to me, being tied up with a job that starts at 3.00pm for almost 2 years… :P

Oh but the AGONY to reach the office!!! I had to switch trains that were packed like a sardine can.. I was quite baffled as I thought taking the train from Kelana Jaya would assure me of a seat! Turns out everybody thinks like me…:( Then, I had to do abit of brisk walking in between trainswitch, climb several steps of stairs and again, wait for the train… To top it all off, my brand new pumps were literally chewing on my feet…

Luckily, my new colleagues were rather friendly, although it’s abit odd to adjust as the ppl in HSBC were super duper friendly… But.. I’m not complaining… they seem like very nice people and made sure I was introduced to each and every department… had to do a whole lotta hand-shaking and repeating my name again and again…

Unfortunately, I didn’t get to do any proper job today, as the ppl who were supposed to teach me how things work were too busy due to the looming deadline… Not that I’m complaining… ;) I was then told to read their product brochures to get a gist of what my job will be like… Ahaa!! But I did learn something interesting… I learned to become a "pirated CD taukeh"!!! I was given the difficult task of burning some of their project cd’s… No, scratch that, not SOME, try 70 copies!!! It was absolute fun!!!

Come 6.00pm, I packed my empty desk and headed home… Reached home at around 7.30, dead tired… almost would’ve flopped straight into bed if it weren’t for the nice shows on TV… So here I am, writing away while I yawn and yawn and yawn… It’s really past my bedtime, fellas… So till the next edition then… :D
